Editor's Letter

Beloved in Christ:

I am so glad we have a God that is faithful in giving us time and opportunity to do good in both giving and receiving. He is a God that also visits the wicked in their plans to scheme and defraud the innocent. He is a just God to be trusted and praised by his people. We need to do that in spite of the world’s conditions because God will make everything right in the process of time. Patience is a great virtue. Only those who understand believe it and exercise themselves in patience. They can do this because they look beyond this earth and they see God in everything. "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8.

Hebrews 11:13: "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth." Praise God, that principle is still true. We have nothing to look forward to in this world. But like those heroes of faith, we look beyond the confines of this world and we see an eternity that we can rejoice in. In the meatime, we have to live by faith and not by sight. After all, faith is simply believing God is sovereign and is in control of everything. That gives us rest in time of trouble. I trust that you folks read the Midnight Cry paper with faith that goes beyond earth’s present trials. God is blessed with faith because the emphasis of your life gives him glory and honor in spite of conditions.

May the Lord help us all as we approach this Christmastime which is indeed a reflection of the spirit of the world. We know that there is something more enduring and real. Praise God for the Savior that dwells in our hearts and not in the tinsel and star on top of a Christmas tree.

May the Lord bless you all and let’s lift our hearts together to praise God for his Son that he sent into this world that we might live.
