Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 789 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text -- Brother Mike Szelak: Isaiah, chapter 61... I have a scripture that's just burning on my heart. I want to give it out. Brother Jimmy, I believe you're right. I believe...the word that comes to my mind is there's a 'ripeness' here tonight. I believe there's somebody here tonight that the Lord is gonna save...give everlasting life to, that's the life that He gives, is everlasting life. You know I was thinking about that lady, Brother Jimmy, that you talked about that the Lord did a miracle. I thought back when you said that to different people when Jesus walked the earth, what a miraculous thing it was to be in His presence and be able to call upon Him. And what a miracle He did for blind people, lame people, deaf people, people He gave everlasting life to. That's the greatest miracle. ( congregational amens ). But it's a miracle that we are here tonight. The Lord Jesus Christ is here tonight. ( congregational amens ). He's here in Spirit. We're in the presence of God Almighty. And I was thinking, Jesus doesn't come to sit off on the side and tap His toes and enjoy the music. He comes to be Who He is. He never changes. He comes to save lost sheep. He comes to heal up broken hearts. He comes to encourage His people and He comes to be Head of His church. I want to read this scripture and sit down. "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me...." (KJV). This is God Almighty anointing the Lord Jesus Christ. This is talking about the Lord. He's anointed Him. He's, "...anointed me to preach good tidings..." to the poor, good things to the poor, the meek. "...He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted...." That's what the Lord comes for. He comes to preach good things to those who are needy, and poor, and are lost and have come to the place where they see they need help. ( congregational amens ). He's come to bind up those who are brokenhearted. "...To proclaim liberty to the captives..." Are you bound tonight? There's one person that can set you free and He's here tonight. It's a miracle. ( congregational amens ). He's come to set the captive free. You may be someone who saw these beautiful young people up here. They're beautiful because the Lord is living through them, shining on their faces and you say, I'd love to be able to worship the Lord like that. He's come to let you worship Him and praise Him and set you free tonight. ( congregational amens ). "...And the opening of the prison to them that are bound..." Your sin debt is paid tonight. It's been paid for--it's been paid for, in full...completely paid for. I wish we could see it. I wish you could believe it. Jesus Christ has paid your sin debt in full. It's been paid for. To point unto them...verse 3...verse 2, "To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord...." There's still time--there's still time. ( congregational amens ). Let's not waste the time. If the Lord were passing by tonight in physical form, wouldn't you run up to Him? Well, He's here in Spirit. He's here! ( congregational amens ). "To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn...." What kind of God do we have that's so high and holy, yet so meek and lowly that He'll comfort you? ( congregational amens ). "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion...." That 'appoint' means comfort them that mourn in Zion. "...To give unto them beauty for ashes...." You've wasted a life? We're all enemies of God until He saves us. We have...I could spend a day talking about the ash heaps of my life, the time I've wasted, and the time I've rebelled against God and had nothing to live for. But He gave me beauty for ashes. He'll change your life. ( congregational amens ). "...The oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness...." Are you heavy tonight? It's wonderful to be able to give that burden to Jesus Christ, every bit of it. ( congregational praise ). And you'll have a garment of praise. You'll feel so light. You're sins will be gone. He'll give you a garment of praise for your heavy spirit, "that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified." Verse 10 here...this is what your life will be like. I'm not saying that it'll all be roses and mountain tops, but I'd rather be in the valley with the Lord. ( congregational amens ). He's all we'll ever need and so much more. "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness...." I don't care how filthy you are. The blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse you. ( congregational amens ). And He'll put a covering on you, not to cover up your sin because it'll be gone...He'll give you a garment of righteousness. It's His righteousness--perfect righteousness for you tonight. "He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness...." I can say tonight as Brother John said...I say it humbly, but I'm as righteous as Jesus Christ is because He had mercy upon me, and He saved me by His grace. He took me from the gutter-most and took me to the uttermost. ( congregational amens ). That's what He's here to do. ( congregational amens ). He's not here to enjoy the beautiful singing. There's beautiful singing in Heaven. He's here to be Who He is, and do what He's come to do, and that's to save sinners. ( congregational amens ). He's wonderful. He's meek and lowly as we heard last night. Someone quoted that scripture in Matthew 11:28-30. He is high and holy but yet He'll come down. If He didn't come down there'd be no hope for you. But He reaches way down into that miry pit. He reaches down and He takes you, and He pulls you up out of that miry clay, and He puts you on a rock, and you will never be moved. ( congregational amens ). "...As a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations." God...as Brother Jimmy said, if you have something moving in your spirit tonight, it's the Lord. He's trying to call you. And He'll call...we can go easy or we can go hard, but what He's going to do is He's gonna bring forth His life in you, and you're going to spring forth, as those seeds that you plant in the garden are gonna spring forth, your life will spring forth. It's His life springing forth in you. ( congregational amens ). Please don't...wait. Thank you, Brother Jim. Please don't tarry. The Lord is here tonight and He wants to save your soul from destruction. He wants to give you purpose in life. ( congregational amens ). Brother Jim quoted that scripture. He wants to give us a sure end. We can have hope that our destiny is sealed in Jesus Christ. Praise God! Amen! ( congregational amens ). -- Brother Steve Sharpe: I had similar thoughts to Brother Jimmy before he got up here. What a great salvation! And you know it's free. And, what's so real to me is that this great God that Phil talked about two nights ago and His Son Jesus that spoke all of this into existence is here tonight. ( congregational amens ). And He loves you. There's a scripture in this Bible that says, "God is love." And I want you to know He loves you. And this emptiness, this place in you that mankind runs to and fro upon the earth to try and fill...you think, well, I just need time to find myself and find the things that will satisfy me. You will not find it. ( congregational amens ). But I'm here to tell you tonight that God loves you and He's here. And He's here to offer you His love. This is probably one of the first scriptures we all learn when we're children. But you know the gospel is simple. It's very simple. Let's begin in verse 16, John 3:16. "For God so loved the world...." For God so loved Steve...for God so loved you. ( congregational praise ). He sent His Son. He sent His Son to suffer and die. Phil talked about when He put the skins on Adam. He was trying to cover himself. The Lord had to offer a sacrifice. That was a type of what God did for you through Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish...." And that means...not about Him. There's many in this building...well there's some in this building that believes there was a Jesus Christ, and they believe He died on a cross. But do you believe He died for you? Do you believe He's speaking to you tonight? Do you believe He's offering His love and His salvation to you right now? Do you believe in Him? "...That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already...." Here's the condemnation that we're gonna have...is that this Jesus, this light--this light of the world is here right now offering Himself to you. I don't know who you are, but He's shining in the dark places of your heart right now, and He's showing you your need of Him. And He's offering you His love. I'm asking you, would you reject Him? That's the condemnation. One day we're gonna have to answer and there is a specific time. Today is the day of salvation. ( congregational amens ). You know they'll come a time when we reject the love of God to the point where He won't speak to us anymore. And like it's been said here, there is no promise for tomorrow. "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the..."--judgment or--"...condemnation, that is the light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light...." Do you want to go out of here just as dark as you came into this place, or do you want to be free? I believe with all my heart God is offering salvation, He's offering deliverance, He's offering healing, whatever you need tonight because He loves you. "...Because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." I would ask you, would you come to the light tonight? Would you lay your sinful life down at the altar, and let Jesus clean you up? He's offering it. I believe it with all my heart. From the moment Jimmy got up, I sensed the Spirit of God reaching out to His children. You know if I could say anything, don't go out of here...don't reject this light because that will be your condemnation. How could you reject so great a love that God Almighty, the same God that spoke this world into existence sent His Son to suffer and die for you? It's a personal thing. I would just ask you to consider that tonight, because I believe the Lord is reaching out in a mighty way. Amen. -- Brother Dean Smith: Revelation 3, verse 17, "You say, I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me...." (NIV). He's asking us to buy from Me, "...Gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door...." (NIV) This scripture came to me last night and it came back to me today, "...I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice...." Any man...I don't care what you've done, where you've been. God is a God of love, a God that forgives His people. ( congregational amens ). He is calling us. He's asking you, do you need of a physician? If you need a physician, it's available tonight. Healing--healing for your souls is available tonight. ( congregational amens ). "I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (NIV)." ( congregational amens ). You know, we sung the song, "Nothing compares to the promise I've given you." Nothing compares. ( congregational amens ). -- Brother Phil Enlow: Praise God! I have thoroughly enjoyed the Lord's faithfulness tonight. I believe He's here. He's showing us the kind of a God that He is, and I had every intention of just sitting it out and enjoying this 'cause, praise God, it's wonderful. And it's not important who's up here. It's important the Lord's up here. ( congregational amens ). But I just had one brief scripture. It's certainly not... We don't need a lot of words. What we need is God to reach out into hearts. But I thought of a scripture I hadn't thought of in awhile. 1st John, chapter five. John, the beloved disciple, fisherman, very simple...a simple man wrote very simply and directly. But listen to these simple words. It says, "We accept man's testimony...." Now that's the typical human reaction as we learn things. We tend to listen to other people and we accept what they say. So he's saying...he's just taking note of that. He says, "We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater...." And that's the testimony that I believe God is giving tonight to somebody, in your heart. That's what he's talking about. God has got...it's got to come to the point where it's not somebody saying it from here alone, it's also Somebody saying it in your heart...God is talking to you. He's talking to you in such a way that He is bearing witness to the fact that this is indeed God's Son and you need Him. That's God's testimony. Without that you're not gonna have any salvation. It's got to be God working with somebody's heart. So he says we accept man's testimony but God's testimony is greater. I don't care how many people were up here saying all the right things. This is what's needed. "God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son." What a simple promise follows. It says, "Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart." This is a one-on-one transaction between you and God that it's got to come to. You've got to come to the point where God talks to you in your heart and you surrender to His testimony. You say, yes, God. I believe what You're telling me. ( congregational amens ). Not just the fact, but I believe in the One You're telling me about because He's the One You have given to me. I was so much appreciative of the emphasis that Jimmy began tonight, because what we need is not a lot of doctrines and words and instructions. We need Jesus. ( congregational amens ). God has given us all we need in Him. ( congregational amens ). It's Jesus that's "...made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." (KJV). What do you need tonight? Do you need deliverance from devils? Do you need forgiveness from sins? Jesus is God's answer. ( congregational amens ). We either have Him or we don't. But he says, "Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart." (NIV). Do you have that tonight? I'll tell you what, we need it. "Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar...." Now this is the one that God talks to. He bears witness to your heart, perhaps that what is being said from here is really God's words, and not just man's...that Jesus is Who He says He is and you need Him. So He's giving you the testimony, but now you're saying, oh no. You're going like this, and you're rejecting that testimony. You're basically saying, God, you're a liar. ( congregational response ). That's a serious thing. ( congregational response ). We're talking about eternal issues here. Either Jesus is Who He said He is and you need Him, or you don't. And if God's talking to you, and you're saying, I don't need you. You're saying, God, you're a liar. Oh, I don't want to be in that position. ( congregational amens ). Praise God. He "...has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son." That's the one you need to be concerned about. God's talking to you and you're saying, no. You don't want to be in that position. "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son." Praise God! If I've got something here that you need and I put it in this book and I hand you the book, you've got this thing you need, don't you? You need eternal life. Well that eternal life is in His Son. You're not gonna get it any other place or any other way. Praise God! ( congregational amens ). But if you have Him, you've got all you need. You got the One you need. And so he winds up with this very simple "John-like" language. "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." Which category do you fall in? There's no middle ground here. You either have Him or you don't. You have either surrendered your life and He has come in to live and to take over, or you haven't. Which is it tonight? That's the question that I believe God would put to people here tonight. I don't know what the order is, I'm gonna...that's all the Lord's given me and I'm gonna give it out and just trust God because I know that it's not anything we can achieve from here. We can't get up and "emote" you into the kingdom of God. We can't reason you into the kingdom of God. We can't do anything. But I'll tell you, it's God's Word and I believe what's been said tonight. There's people that God is interested in. I don't know who. It might surprise us who. But God knows and you know! ( congregational amens ). You know because there's a testimony going on to your heart that nobody else around you knows about, but you know it. The only question tonight is what are you going to do about it? ( congregational amens ). Praise God! Because the only time you have any hope of entering into this is when God's talking to you. If He stops talking because you've done like this, you have no hope. So if God's talking to you, listen and surrender to His love. Let His Son come in a take care of all the issues of your life. He'll clean you up just like it's been said. Oh, praise God! He'll fill your life and the devils will have to go. ( congregational amens ). And you'll have eternal life. Praise God! ( congregational amens ). -- Brother Jim Johnson: I believe with all my heart that God is reaching out...to somebody here tonight and I thank God for that. Only God can reach out. I thank God that these brethren have been sensitive to the moving of the Spirit of God upon the assembly and I believe that the Lord is moving on hearts. I don't know what you're experiencing. I don't know what's going on inside your heart just like Phil don't know. We don't none of us know. But God knows--God knows. I thought about God's heart toward those that are His and I thought about this scripture here. It's in Matthew, chapter 18. I'm gonna read it. I don't know how much I'll comment on it but it's just a few verses here. I believe this gives us an insight into the love of God. In verse 11 and chapter 18 of Matthew, "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost." (KJV). If you're lost, if you're in need, God's talking to you tonight. He wants to help you. He wants to save you. "How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep...." Now this...Dwayne referred to this passage the other day, but it just came back to me because of a couple of the verses here. "How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you..."--Listen to this!--"...He rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray." Isn't that marvelous? ( congregational amens ). That ought to excite you! That ought to bless you that God is so interested in you. You've been dodging Him. You've been running from Him. But God is so interested in you that He'll leave the ninety and nine and go just after you. Isn't that marvelous? Does that show us the love of God? ( congregational amens ). Then 14 says, "Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one..."--not even one--"...of these little ones should perish." He's trying to seek you out. He's trying to deal with your heart. He's trying to let you know He loves you! ( congregational amens ). He wants to gather you unto Himself! He wants to liberate you! God, help us to respond. ( congregational praise ). -- Brother Jimmy Robbins: Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! ( congregational praise ). Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus. |
