“A Call to Surrender” One Part Only

Transcript of message from TV Broadcast 905 -- taken from Closed Captioning Text

— Brother Roberto Abrina: King David said, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me...” (KJV).

( congregational amens ).

He was commanding himself, O my soul, bless God, because there are times in our life that we feel sad, we feel bad. But King David commanded himself, bless the Lord. He commanded his soul, O soul, bless God, for He is worthy to be praised! He’s worthy to be glorified! Hallelujah!

( congregational praise ).

The Word of God, in the book of Proverbs, chapter 18 verse 24—there is a friend who pretended to be a friend, but “...there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Hallelujah! There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. The Webster dictionary says the meaning of friend is someone who is a supporter, someone who is a backer, a defender, someone who is a co-partner, even someone who is a co-worker. And I thank God, and I praise the Lord that we have a friend. His name is Jesus.

( congregational amens ).

Hallelujah! He will be with us even though we are in the midst of fire. Jesus is with us. If you’ll read the book of Daniel chapter 3, verse 19 through 29, the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, because they never compromised their faith in the Lord. They never bent their knees to the idols. Nebuchadnezzar was so angry that he commanded his armies to seven times the furnace, but Shadrach and Meshach, and Abednego, they were there and God was with them.

In Daniel chapter 3, verse 25. “He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Hallelujah! Tonight you might be facing trials, you might be facing problems in your life, maybe your relationship with your husband, or with your wife, or with your children. But I challenge you tonight, God will be with you.

( congregational amens ).

In the midst of fire, Jesus will be there. Hallelujah! That’s why in verse 27 it says, “And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power...”—”...Had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.” Hallelujah! Because, in the midst of fire, the Lord Jesus Christ will be with us.

I know all of us have problems. We have loved ones that are sick, but praise God, in the midst of these problems, the Lord will be with us. Not only as a friend in the midst of fire, but he’s also a friend in the midst of the lions. Remember Daniel. He was there. But the angel shut the mouth of the Lion. Hallelujah! Because the Lord declares that “...greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” And there is “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper....”

( congregational praise ).

No weapon that is formed against us. The thief, the devil—John 10:10 says the devil comes to kill, to steal and to destroy. But the same verse declares, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

( congregational praise ).

The Word of God declares, “...I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Hallelujah! That’s why Jesus is our friend. We could trust Him. We could put our life in Him. We could surrender everything to the Lord Jesus Christ. He’s our friend in the midst of lions. He’s not only a friend in the midst of lions, but He’s our friend in the midst when we have needs.

If you’ll remember the life of Elijah when the Lord commanded him to go to the brook of Cherith. For three and a half years, it was a bird that provided his needs. Every day meat and bread was provided. Just imagine that. Three and a half years God has sustained, God has blessed Elijah. There was a famine at the time, because the Word of God declares that God—the riches of the wicked of this world has prepared for us—the Lord has prepared for us. That’s why Elijah was blessed by the Lord even in the midst of famine.

Not only that, in the midst... like Paul and Silas in the book of Acts chapter 16, verse 25 through 27, when they were in prison. Their hands and their feet were put—there were chains on their hands and their feet. But, praise God, the devil could not chain our hearts. Paul and Silas start praising the Lord. They were singing, this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.

( congregational amens ).

After they praise the Lord, after they opened their mouth and praising the Lord, the Bible declares that all the chains and all the doors of the jail were opened. There are times in our lives and our families that we have problems. I challenge you, just praise God. Just worship the Lord in the midst of trials, in the midst of problems. Every time we praise God—because the Word of God declares that God dwells in the praises of his people.

( congregational praise ).

The more we praise God, the more all the chains, all the worries, all the burdens upon us will be taken away by the Lord, hallelujah, as we praise God. Praise the Lord.

( congregational praise ).

In the midst of persecution, the book of Romans chapter 8, verses 35 through 39, I’d like to read this scripture. Romans chapter 8, verse 35. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Hallelujah! No one can separate us from the love of God. That’s why John chapter 15 verse 15. “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” We praise the Lord that we have a Friend. His name is Jesus. Hallelujah! It is the challenge this evening, especially for the youth, I’d like to challenge you. Give your life to the Lord.

( congregational amens ).

Just give your life to the Lord. I know you have everything here, but you’ll never have everything unless you have Jesus.

( congregational praise ).

It’s only Jesus that could satisfy. You might have white skin, different culture, but all of us have the same need, and that need—only Jesus.

( congregational amens ).

It’s only Jesus. Will you let Jesus in your hearts? I know the devil is trying to attack you in many ways, but just give your heart to the Lord. It is my prayer that all the youth here will just give their hearts to the Lord. Just give your hearts to the Lord. Give your hearts to the Lord.

( congregational praise ).

O Lord, I pray You start tonight, Lord.

( congregational amens ).

Yes, Lord, You are our Friend. And You will never leave us, Lord, nor forsake us. Lord, you’ll be always with us. Lord, thank you, Father. Thank you, Lord, for Your presence.

( congregational praise ).

— Brother Chip King: Praise God! Revelation chapter 3, verse 20. You don’t even have to turn there. Just listen to this. “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him....” The Lord is knocking. Will you open the door to Him? He is calling. Nothing else needs to be said. Do you want Jesus? Do you want Him more than anything? He is available. He is here. He will not turn you away. You turn your heart to him, He will not turn you away.

( congregational praise ).

Let’s be much in prayer here. Lift our hearts to God. God, move in our midst. We thank You for Your presence, Lord. Draw those, Lord, that You want to draw, Father. God, grant them the grace, Lord, to give their lives to You, God. Work, Lord, mightily, God, according to the need. Oh God, we look to You, Father. And we thank You and praise You, oh Lord. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

( congregational praise ).

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

( congregational praise ).

Oh God, we need You desperately, Lord, to come. Yes, God. Oh God. Hallelujah! Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah! Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I was talking with someone up here last night and they were saying this—I want to give God more of my life. I said, that’s not what He wants, He wants all of your life. To another one—he was talking about he didn’t have any peace. I said when you have the Lord, you have the Prince of Peace.

Praise God! He is the answer. He’s the Way, the Truth and the Life. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! God, work. We thank You. We bless You, Lord. Hallelujah! Will you have Jesus? That’s the answer. Do you want him? Will you open the door of your heart? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Glory to God. Glory to the Lamb. Let everything that hath breath, let him praise the Lord. We bless You. We praise You, oh God. We bless You, holy God.

( congregational praise ).

Lord, You’re worthy of our praise. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord. Thank you, Lord.

( congregational praise ).

Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah! Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Let’s just wait here before the Lord. Let Him work. Have Your way, God.

( congregational praise ).

Hallelujah! Yes, God.

( congregational praise ).

What will you have if you gain the whole world and you lose your soul? It is worth everything...everything to know Jesus Christ. Praise God. Hallelujah. Lord, thank You for these ones that have come, God. Continue to work, Lord. We thank You. We bless You, Lord. Hallelujah. Thank You, Lord. Hallelujah. It’s not too late—it’s not too late.

( congregational praise ).

Hallelujah. He says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Hallelujah. Lord, we thank You for that rest. We thank You for that rest, oh God. We thank You. Bless You, Lord. Hallelujah. We can find that throne of grace. Praise God. He understands our every need. He understands what you’re going through right now. He understands the battle that goes on in your heart. He understands it. He died on the cross because of it.

He came to set men, women, boys, and girls free—free from their sins. Give them rest and peace and life eternal. Hallelujah! And it’s a free gift. It costs us our lives. You can’t pay for it. Will you accept that gift? Hallelujah. Praise God! Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord, thank You, Lord. Glory to God. Hallelujah. Have Your precious way, God. Hallelujah. Glory to the Lamb.

Lord, we thank You for Your presence here tonight. God, we acknowledge Your presence, Lord. We thank You, Father, for every soul, God, that has come forward here tonight, Lord. Bless them, help them, God. Lord, as they reach out to You, Father. Your Word declares as we reach out, Lord, You draw nigh to us, God. We thank You. We bless You, Lord. Thank You, Father.

Thank You for salvation, Lord. Thank You for the blood of Calvary, for the cross that sets us free. Thank You, Father, for sending Your Son, for loving us, Lord, that You gave Your only Son. Thank You, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Hallelujah! Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Kenny, can you get your group together? Sing some songs here. Praise God!
